Eska, a source of success for Buzz
The Taxi advertising agency has once again requested the talent of Buzz Image Group to create two 15-second spots for Eska. Inspired by Chinese film scenarios in which the story is told through the practice of martial arts, the Eska spots draw an analogy with self-defense, as illustrated by the catch phrase.
Buzz director André Ü Montambeault surrounded himself with a team of experienced people to obtain the desired result. Jean Frenette, renowned stunt coordinator and world karate champion, worked with the two actors involved—both of whom hold a 4th Dan black belt—to build a choreography to be performed as naturally as possible, while focusing more on defense than on offense. The images were shot at 120 images per second to allow a better flow in slow motion.
When it comes to VFX, if there is one element that is hard to create, it is water. With the help of Realflow, the Buzz team made the most of its expertise—acquired during recent projects—to end up with an extremely realistic representation of water. Buzz also shot the visual content elements for Eska’s Web site.
